Hey BOG Fans,
After a very long last few months I am finally getting a chance to write to everybody. First of all to thank you all for your support, secondly to let you know what is going on with BOG these days, and lastly to update you on what we have coming in the future. So here we go.
As you all know, this last fall tour was set up as a benefit tour for the Backbeat Fund, a non profit designed to help restore the culture and heritage of New Orleans by aiding the musicians and artists of the city with our post Katrina revival. The tour was quite successful due to the efforts of clubs like Nectars in Burlington VT, the Red Parka in North Conway NH, the Muddy River Smokehouse in Portsmouth NH, Tammany Hall in Worcester and people like the Boston Horns, Mariellen Burns, Vassar College students, and a few other major players in the planning of these successful events. The collaborative efforts of clubs, the BOG and all the fans managed to make over $10,000 for the Backbeat fund. I would like to personally thank every single one of you who helped support Backbeat, Brotherhood of Groove, and New Orleans during this time of great need. Other venues such as the Half Moon Saloon in Big Sky Montana are now doing a Toy Drive with which they are working with BOG and Backbeat to collect and distribute toys to the families in New Orleans who need the Christmas help. Any other person, club, or organization who would like to contribute Christmas gifts to the less fortunate in New Orleans, should email me here through the Brotherhood of Groove web site. <http://www.brotherhoodofgroove.com/>www.brotherhoodofgroove.com
Now...The new, temporary Brotherhood of Groove headquarters has been set up at a wonderful old farmhouse in western Massachusetts. Those of you who might be attending parties out here will understand when you see it. We are lucky to have such a cool new jumping ground for the band. Plans to move back to New Orleans are in effect for June or July along with a heavy Jazz Fest presence this year. While speaking on Festivals, Voodoo Fest took the initiative to be the first post-Katrina festival in New Orleans and was a huge success. BOG played on the wwoz stage along with many of the other talented acts of the Crescent city and the vibe was back for all. The festival brought in over 30,000 people, all of whom where effected in some way by Katrina. I think Voodoo has now firmly sunk its feet into New Orleans, and shall be a great festival for years to come.
Next..Over the next few months BOG will be playing mostly in the Northeast along with doing some serious writing and practicing sessions. Monthly shows at clubs like Nectars and Tammany Hall have already been set up through March, and there will be more shows added over the next 2 weeks. Please keep checking the web site for more info and additions.
The website will also soon have a new Download section where lots of shows will be available for download at a very fair price. We will still offer a few freebee‚s along with samples of albums and such. A Merch section will also carry all of the T-shirts, posters and other goodies that have previously only been available at shows.
The only Brotherhood of Groove show in December will be:
Sat. Dec 10th

Tammany Hall
Worcester, Massachusetts
so get your butts out to Party for one last BOG blast in 2005.
Thanks Y'all
